This explains what Late Brake collects when you play, sign in or buy something, who handles it for us, and how to see or delete it.
In short
- As a guest we only store a random account ID, the driver name you pick and the laps you upload.
- With Google sign-in we also get your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
- Payments go through Dodo Payments. We never see your card or UPI details.
- Microsoft Clarity records how people use the site, with cookies, so we can fix what's confusing or broken.
- Your driver name, lap times and lap replays are public on the leaderboards.
- We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. Email us any time to have it deleted.
Who's responsible
Late Brake is run by Ayush Garg in India, who decides how this data is used. Contact: officialayushgarg@gmail.com.
What we collect, and why
When you play as a guest
To put you on the leaderboards, our account provider (Supabase) creates an account with a random ID, kept in your browser so it knows you next time. We store:
- the driver name you choose;
- the laps you upload: when you set a personal best or race the daily challenge, the game uploads the lap time, sector times and a replay of your car's path (the "ghost") that others can race against.
When you continue with Google
Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with Supabase, which keeps them with your account. We use your email address to identify your account and show it to you in the account dialog. It isn't shown to other players, and we don't send you marketing email. Your public driver name is separate from your Google name.
When you race online
Your driver name, your car's position on track and your race times are sent live to the other players in the same room, through Supabase. We don't keep them after the race.
When you buy a car colour
Dodo Payments runs the checkout and is the merchant of record for the sale. Dodo collects what it needs to take the payment and follow the law, such as your payment details, email address and billing country, and sends your receipt. Dodo's privacy policy covers that data.
To start a checkout we send Dodo your account ID, the colour you chose and your Google email address (so you don't have to type it). Dodo tells us whether the payment succeeded. We keep a record of each purchase: the colour, Dodo's checkout and payment IDs, the amount, currency and time.
Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to see how people use Late Brake, so we can find what's confusing or broken. On every page,
Clarity records clicks, taps, scrolling, mouse movement and the pages you visit, along with your device, browser and
approximate location (worked out from your IP address). It turns these into session recordings and heatmaps. Text you
type into fields is masked. Clarity sets cookies (such as _clck and _clsk) to recognise
a returning visit. Microsoft processes this data under the
Microsoft privacy statement; see also
Clarity's privacy disclosure.
Kept only in your browser
Your personal best laps and their replays, medals, settings and the car colour you picked are saved in your browser's storage and never sent to us, except the uploaded laps described above. Clearing your browser's data deletes them.
Delivering the site
- Vercel hosts the site and keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, the page requested and the time.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr deliver the fonts and some code the pages load, so they receive your IP address.
- If you play Late Brake on a game portal such as CrazyGames or Poki, that portal shows ads and its own privacy policy applies.
When you email us
We keep your message and email address to reply and to keep a record of support, refund and privacy requests.
Who handles it for us
- Supabase: accounts, driver names, leaderboards, online races and purchase records. Its servers for Late Brake are in Mumbai, India.
- Google: sign-in, when you choose it.
- Dodo Payments: payments, as merchant of record.
- Microsoft: Clarity recordings and heatmaps.
- Vercel, Google Fonts and jsDelivr: hosting and delivering the site.
Some of these companies process data outside India, for example in the United States. We don't sell personal data, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your account, driver name and uploaded laps: until you ask us to delete them. A newer personal best replaces the older one.
- Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after the account itself is deleted.
- Clarity data: for the limited time Microsoft keeps it under its own retention rules.
- Sign-in and server logs: for the short time our providers keep them for security.
Your choices and rights
- See, correct or delete your data, including your whole account: email us from the address on the account (or tell us your driver name) and we'll do it. Deleting an account removes your driver name and laps from the leaderboards.
- Withdraw consent at any time, for example by deleting your account.
- Cookies: you can block or clear cookies in your browser, which stops Clarity recognising return visits.
- Complain to us first, so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
Late Brake isn't made for children under 13. If you're under 18, ask a parent or guardian before signing in with Google or buying anything. If you think a child has given us personal data without permission, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
Everything travels over HTTPS, database rules only let each player change their own data, and payment secrets stay on the server. No system is perfectly secure, so if you spot a problem, please tell us.
Changes
We'll update this page when what we collect changes, and change the date at the top.
Contact and grievances
For anything about your data, including grievances, contact Ayush Garg at officialayushgarg@gmail.com. We aim to reply within a few days.
